Stella Sexsmith

Stella began her love of dance at the age of two and has continued to pursue it ever since. By six, she was already competing and training intensively in numerous styles, including Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Acro, Ballet, Pointe, and Hip Hop. Stella began dancing at Kickit Island Lakes when she was 10 years old and has continued to grow and excel ever since. She has participated in numerous competitions, including the View Dance Challenge in Regina, Ovation in Fargo, Dance Canada, and the Manitoba Dance Festival, among others. Additionally, Stella has expanded her artistry through conventions that explore unique styles, such as street jazz and Bollywood. She was also invited to the Chicago Tap Theatre Summer Intensive, a major highlight in her dance journey.

Outside of the dance world, Stella is currently a student at the University of Winnipeg, working toward becoming an early childhood educator. She is the proud recipient of a scholarship that stands for “helping people, doing your best, being kind, and making each day count.” Stella’s greatest passion is working alongside others to help them feel included, safe, and loved, regardless of their background or identity. This year marks her fourth year on the Kickit staff, and she is ecstatic to continue sharing her passion for dance while making every student feel like a superstar!
